O.K. here's the deal. I am not looking for pats on the back or someone to lie to me or over exaggerate. I know I am not terrible at decorating but in everyone's completely honest opinions, Do you think my work is neat enough, complete enough and original enough to bother competing in the state fair?
I know it's no ices or sugar show but it is the closest thing to one I can get to anytime soon, and I'd like to compete but I really am at a lose for how to.
You know th specifics of what judges look for and all that. So any one out there compete and have any words of advice? Thanks so much for the honesty, I got thick skin so dish it out, I can take it!

Have you seen last year finalists? Were the cakes out of this world and something very unusual and totally challenging for you to do?

Aside from whether we think you are capable or not (and you are, you should!)...

You should just because we should always look to challenge ourselves. Get the "competing" experience in if that is what you want to do. You may get some good critique that can only help you later on.

Now go get your idea together.

I agree with everyone that you should definetely go for it!! Besides the fact that your cakes are beautiful, you may regret a missed opportunity to participate in something so exciting and challenging!
