Oval cake plates & separators.
Does anyone know where I could buy oval shaped cake pltes and or separator plates? I have someone who wants a x-mas cake in this shape. I have the pans but no plates or any idea where to obtain them. I have looked at several on line stores, wilton and ebay to no avail.
intotheoven doesn't have them either.....oh poo!

Re: Oval cake plates & separators.
Hmmm, I have no idea. I've never heard of oval plates. Do you need the plastic ones to separate the tiers, or just a bottom plate and cardboard cake boards? If you are handy with a saw you could make the bottom board (or just put the cake on a square board), but I don't know what to tell you about plastic plates. Did you try the wilton store?
Good luck!

I don't know where you'd get them either.
I use foam core board that I get at hobby lobby and just cut the shape I need. It's very easy to score it with a straight edge razor, then bend it and cut it through. It's also a lot stronger than cardboard!

Hey, what a great idea. I use cardboard, and I hate it. It just looks cheap, and when you cut into the cake it's all greasy. Yuk! I'll have to try the foam core board next time!

What a great idea, I will have to try this. A person should be able to put trim around the edge?

Re: Oval cake plates & separators.
well I need the plates to separate it but if not able tofind then I will use the foam core also. I love using it! I'll just have to tall the customer I can stack it just not use pillars with it. Hopefully they'll be O.K. with it. It's not a wedding cake so they shouldbe more O.K. with a a little difference in design. It is a customer I'vedelt with pretty often so they wont be upity about it.
I have looked on wilton, ebay and many other on line stores too. I can only find them in UK and that wouldn't be very cost efficacy like!

Re: Oval cake plates & separators.
I thought of you the other day when I saw one lonely oval sep. plate at my local cake store. It looked like it had been around for a few years, LOL ( they always have old dirty stuff laying around ). I would love to clean the place up.
