Default Favorite Cake Recipe Book?

I am looking for a recipe book for cakes and there are so many out there I am having a hard time deciding on which to buy.

Anyone have a fave they care to recommend?

Smile Re: Favorite Cake Recipe Book?

What I did was check my local library for all the books I might want and some I didn't even know about. Our local library has an on line site and I did a search for cake decorating and baking then reserved those books. This way I could peruse them all and only buy the ones I REALLY wanted to own.
Much cheaper and you'd be amazed at how you might only want 1 idea or 1 recipe out of a book and let's face it, these kind of books aren't cheap!

Great suggestions guys! I had seen the Whimsical one before.

I like the library idea. In these days of the internet I seem to forget that those still exist...lol.

Thanks for the tips!

Yep, I do the library thing also. I search for cake books thru the library network and they transfer them to my local library. I also have a copier/scanner at home so instead of wasting money on making copies of soemthing in the books, I just scan the pages!
It's much easier than spending tons of money on books that may end up sitting on the shelf!

I am getting about ten books for Christmas. I'll have to make a list before I wrap. YES, I buy my own Christmas, I wrap and I'm very surprised on Christmas morning. LOL.
