Lightbulb New Canadian Christmas Ideas Wanted

Hi all,

I am currently working with our local Folk Arts Council, which offers a wide variety of services for new Canadians. Many of these people are just learning English, and all of the current students (approximately 80) will be celebrating their first Canadian Christmas (and first experience with snow!) this year.

We host a party for them next week, and I am doing the cake. I was told "oh, just a plain sheet cake that says 'happy holidays', and put a small Canadian flag in each corner".

Well, the creative side of my thinks that SUCKS! I was going to donate a cake anyways, and now they have paid me for supplies. So, I want to do something special.

Any suggestions anyone?

TIA!

Jodi

How about a sheet cake with a winter snow scene since this is their first. Maybe a little Canadian flag say on a flag pole beside an igloo with little people doing snow type stuff. Snow balls, sk

i-ing, igloo, wrapped up warm in scraves and mittens too. Maybe with another igloo with an American flag on a pole beside it?

Thanks for the ideas...I don't think I would use an American flag though...we are in Canada, and most of our immigrants this season seem to be from the warmer climates (Colombia & other South American countries I can't seem to think of right now).

I gotcha! But A Canadian flag could still be used.
