yes you can use Hershey's, just add a tad bit of oil to it a teaspoon at a time till you get the consistency you'd like.

I have used a regular hersheys bar before as well and added a few drops of vegtable oil to thin it... I use candi quik that I buy at the local grocery store on our baked isle (cake mixes, icings, brownie mixes etc. isle) Vanilla/Chocolate flavors they work and taste like choc. I use my wilton paste colorings for color you can use the veg. oil in the same way to thin down if needed but, the paste has never caused mine to glob up perhaps it might with a very dark color... but, pastels and mid tones will work fine...
