you could do individual apple boxes and then put those in a box surrounded by plastic bags of dry ice ad then have those peanuts or other small packing material in there to prevent moving and shifting....the dry ice will last for about 2 or 3 days and if you ship priority 2 to 3 at most days being shipped should be fine. Remember it may be cool outside but that means heaters on in mail trucks and in mail offices too possibly. So he dry ice should hold up better than regular ice of course but also help to maintain the constant temp....of course I am no expert but that's what I have experienced in shipping my caramels and candies and such at Christmas and holidays.
