Re: Sales or No Sales?
Ok, so I know I will be hated on here from now on.....BUT I do not think that there should be these special sales! It seems like such a big secret around here on how to take advantage of a good deal. I unfortunetly do not have time to blog and sit on the computer every day because I am too busy with my business MAKING CAKES!!!! I don't think this makes me any less valuable of a customer. I would like a decent price offered to all who is willing to purchase it...when they need it. If you want to offer a special on items or sales in general that's fine, I appreciate it, ....email your clients and give them a code in their regular email box instead of making them hunt for it. This is what any other company I've done business with over the internet does (and I buy a lot off the internet). Or what about a break when you buy in bulk?
I love your company and would like to continue business with you, but I'm not going to deny that it's frustrating to pay more for the same product just because I didn't log in and blog on a daily basis.

No one will hate you for your opinion PattiCakes. The question was asked so they could get some honest feedback on the subject. I'm sure your opinion is just as valued and appreciated as anyone else's!
As for discounts for buying in bulk, have you checked into their wholesale program? They have talked about discounts for bulk purchases and on some items you will see a listing labeled "price breaks" with pricing based on the number purchased. I don't think that program is completely up and running yet, but as I understand it, they plan on getting that started in the near future.

Re: Sales or No Sales?
Patticakes - you will get no hate from me - I totally 100% agree with you - I was thinking the same thing. I can't/don't have time to sit on my computer each and every day and hunt around trying to find which post a sale may or may not be in. I think that an email to customers would be a great way to go letting them know that they could log in at whatever time and get whatever discount they may have going. I'm sure I've missed out on a lot of sales simply b/c I don't have the time to hunt around or be on my computer!! Well said and you have my support on this one! .gif)

Re: Sales or No Sales?
Well keep the opinions coming and the votes, it's the majority rules vote on this one, just because we know we can't keep everyone happy.
I can't tell you how many e-mails (100's) every time we send out our newsletter with people (some politer than others) about "I didn't sign-up for this, why am I getting this? Take me off this list IMMEDIATELY" (that is some of the tamer ones), even though in your account you have the option to subscribe or not subscribe.
In all actuality, we get many less complaints when running it through here, probably because not everyone knows about it.
If the majority rules here that they don't want sales, we will stop having sales to make sure you are happy, which is our primary goal. Unfortunately the e-mail to all customers route is definitely not possible for every sale that we do, as it does cause a lot of work for us to manually remove people from the mailing list to comply with SPAM laws.
Until the poll goes the other way, just pop in take a quick look around before you place your order and see if there is a sale going on. You don't have to post to receive most of the sales, just check the messages.
Sorry for any hard feelings on the sales, it is not our intention, just to pass on a bargain to those of you who are already receiving some of the best pricing on the Net along without over burdening us with additional workloads.
Warm Regards,
MtBaker

Re: Sales or No Sales?
I don't think you have to hunt through every message to find the sales. The thread title is always marked appropriately. Just do like MTBaker suggested, and before you place your order, check the forum for a sale thread. It would take all of a few minutes at most.
It is nice and very much appreciated to get the "surprise" sale every now and then.
