Re: First Impressions Silicon Molds
let me just say this...these molds are excellent! I have a lot of these and they are super quality and work really, really well.
If you go to their site where the lady who makes them /takes orders for them she is super too. They explain how to use these molds and how to get the best and the most from them. They are sturdy and last a long time....check them out. You wont be disappointed.

Re: First Impressions Silicon Molds
2sdae,
You are correct, these molds are absolutely amazing! You can use them for virtually anything and they are perfect. Yes they may be a little more pricey, but they are made perfect and have such great designs.
Your Baking Mistress was turned on to them when she went out to take a class with Carrie Biggers and we just had to carry them!

Re: First Impressions Silicon Molds
I don't have any, but I checked them out and I'd like to get some! Actually, I'd like to get all of them....but that's not in my budget.
Can anyone who has several suggest one that would be a good starter, or one that's particularly useful?
Thanks!

Re: First Impressions Silicon Molds
I use the ones for borders more than any.
And the jewel ones too, I melt down jolly ranchers and put them in the faceted jewel molds and make cake charms for my castles or princess crowns and pillows.

Me too, border for sure is what I use the most!!! I love the perfect pearls and also the bambu, oh, also the rope is fantastic!! It will save you TONS of time.
Now 2sdae, please, tell more on how you melt the Jolly Ranchers!!! My son wants a treasure chest cake for his birthday and I've been looking around at hard candy recipes, but if I can use Jolly Rancher, I'd be sooo happy, my favorite candy by the way... Thanks!

Re: First Impressions Silicon Molds
I just melt them in a double boiler and pour right into the molds, I am sure you can use isomalt too but I cheat and do it the easy way, plus my girls are gaga over jolly ranchers!
