Default Care to venture a guess?

Zalita's cupcakes are so amazing. I wonder what her technique is. I'm sure she uses cutters for the flowers but what about for the other stuff? Like the bird cage or that ever so famous teacup set?

You think she hand molds them? Any guesses? I am so amazed when I look at her pics. Definitely cake porn!

I love the birdcage!

When you look at it, it's a brilliant way to do something like that so small. She's really just piping over what looks to be a small ball of fondant. I'm going to have to give that one a try!

I was going to say the same thing cupcakeshoppe! She must have fingers the size of toothpicks to get that amazingly small detail!!
Very cool! Thanks for sharing.

I had to see that site. Amazing work in the cup capes, yes.

My guess: She is frosting some cup cakes with butter cream, and adding decorations with gum paste flowers or shapes, cut outs with miniature cutters etc. Some time she is using the candy molds to get shapes to decorate with. Nice.
The other thing she is doing, is covering the cupcake with the fondant, like we will do cookies, while they are hot so they stick nicely. The fondant has been cut with a pretty edge; some of them have been embossed before covering the cupcake, and then enhanced with other decorations.

Well... that is my guess. And now I have to runnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn...............!!!!

I definitely do not have the patience to deal with miniatures like that! It's probably why I don't do many cupcakes to start with!
