Just Ordered Chocopan Carmel/Cappuccino flavors
I just redeemed my gift voucher (thanks again Mt. Baker!!!) for a 2 lb bucket of each flavor. Anyone use these yet? I'm excited to try both of them, although I think my coworkers will like the cappuccino better. I will probably use the cappuccino with either the chocolate stout or chocolate Kahlua cake - yum! Making myself hungry again....
Now to decide on a design......

Re: Just Ordered Chocopan Carmel/Cappuccino flavors
I haven't used Chocopan yet, so I'm not sure. However, I believe I've read you can roll it out a little thinner than Satin Ice, you just have to be careful of it tearing. 2 lbs isn't very much, I'm guessing you could probably get at least a 12" diameter (4" inch tall) tier easily covered, and have some leftover for borders, etc.
I think Cakebaker has used it - maybe she could chime in? ;-)

Re: Just Ordered Chocopan Carmel/Cappuccino flavors
I hate it. I have a really hard time working with it. Very disappointing. I was excited to buy it because I've heard others rave about it. I bought two 2# tubs a while ago, and I have yet to use the second one. I'm sure if I worked with it a little more and practiced I would learn it's nuances, but I just don't have the patience. Almost all of my fondant work is detail only, so I'm not in a rush to make someone's flowers that they're just going to pick off the cake taste better. .gif) It's Satin Ice all the way for me!

Re: Just Ordered Chocopan Carmel/Cappuccino flavors
I've used it some, I'm still using Satin Ice mostly though.
I do like it a lot, but I don't think I'll be using it during the summer months. It's much more heat sensitive than Satin Ice is.
2 lbs should be enough to cover a 14" round....if you're careful with trimming, you may have enough left to do a 6" as well.
Here's a link to some information on it.

I also mix my chocopan 2/3 to 1/3 with satin ice, goes further and tends to get rid of the easy tearing and makes it more sturdy and roll out nice, helps with heat sensitivity too.
