Default any tips for fondant figures?

I was reading some old posts and i saw the lorraine link, but i was hoping to see some more stuff on doing bodies and stuff like that. I want to make these guys into simplified fondant figures ^_^ Its for my boyfriends cake. BTW, I ordered Satin Ice for the first time! I can't wait till it gets here.

I want to know things like-how far ahead to do the figures, um-just what i really need. I'm going broke with so many celebrations this month. I just want the bare essentials. Like-fondant-what do i use to make it harder or i guess more workable for making figures.

I finally have everything all mapped out. I figured that i'll wait on the painting. I think i should practice more with that later. I don't NEED the fondant figures, but it would be SO cute. Like i said-though-verrry simplified!

Thats just the pic though. I'm going to overly simplify them. I want them to be verrrry basic, like no details. I guess i'll try to figure it out how to make them myself. you'll see!

I am sure you will figure it out! I was visioning a cake with those figures molded on top and all airbrushed... that must not be your vision...

To hold them together use toothpicks dipped in gum glue. That is how I have held my figures together and have not had one break yet

I buy the bamboo skewers for things that I need longer. I have the Marcela Sanchez vedeo on brides & grooms and that is what she does too.
