How much Fondant to use

Okay I have never cover a three layer cake with fondant, can anyone tell me how much fondant I will need to cover a 12, 10 and 8 layer cake? I bought 20 pounds yesterday and it will be here by the 28th, just wondering if I will need more?

I'm thinking you could probably get those 3 cakes covered with only 5 lbs of fondant - if you don't need extra for decorating and you don't roll it out too thick. I know 20 lbs will be more than enough!
