Question Gumpaste question??

Can I pre make flowers, borders or any other items, how long are will these flowers etc be good for?? and how should I store them.??

I would like to pre-make flowers and have them handy for my next project.

As far as I'm concerned, gumpaste flowers and decorations are good for forever.

I'd dry them and store them in airtight containers. I always line the container with paper towels just in case they're still a bit soft and to cushion them.

I wouldn't store them in the fridge because the moisture will ruin them once they thaw out.

I agree, I wouldn't refrigerate or freeze them. They'll do fine just stored in a cool, dry place.

Flowers I would make a head but not borders, they need to form to cake size and shape so pre-made wouldn't do too well.

For things like drapes and decorations that need to be formed to the cake, you can use whatever cake pan sizes you'll need to dry them on. That way they dry to the shape you need.

Of course, you would have to know ahead of time what size cake you'd be decorating.
