Default Rolled Cookie Recipe

This is the recipe I use for rolled cookies. This recipe is good for making cookies on a stick. I used this recipe to make 300 wedding cake cookies covered in fondant for a 60 wedding anniversary.

6 cups flour
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 cups sugar
2 cups butter [I use Blue Bonnet]
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla

Have oven preheated to 350 degrees.

This is a great recipe when using cookie cutters. It doesn't spread. Your cookies will be the same shape after you bake them as they were before. This recipe makes up to 8 dozen 3 inch cookies.

Cream sugar and butter until fluffy [about five minutes]. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix dry ingredients in separate bowl and add to butter mixture. Mix well.

Roll dough out on a piece of parchment paper. Place on cookie sheet and chill for ten minutes. Your dough will be chilled and ready to cut and bake with no wait. Repeat the steps with the rest of the dough. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool on rack.
