Default Switching pans

Hi all, I have a great recipe that uses a cake mix with a little doctoring up. I was wondering since I have several different style bundt pans if I could bake in them instead of the usual 8 or 9 inch pan. I would like to add either chocolate chips or nuts on occasion and don't know it this is OK or if they will sink to the bottom.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated .
Thanks

Sometimes if you roll the nuts and chips in flour first this will help them not sink to the bottom of the bans.

I dont see why not... Im not professional by any means, so please someone let her know if I'm wrong!! I'd just be sure to really spray the inside of the pan with cooking spray, or whatever you use to keep it from sticking!!

I often bake my regular cake recipes (cake mix doctored up) in bundt pans. Works really well. Need more time to bake though... and for chocolate chips and nuts, always roll them in flour before you put them in the batter...

I never roll my nuts or choco chips in flour and don't have any problems if the batter is thick enough. I wonder why I have never had any problems with that???

sometimes mine do all sink sometimes they dont and I have never rolled them flour, but I thought I'd try it next time. I did make an apple spice cake yesterday with chunk of apples, so I am interested in seeing how they all baked. Doesnt seem as if they went to the bottom or anything.

There are several recipes I use with any kind of pan, only thing I know of as fas as having to use a certain pan is angel food cake type cakes that need something to hold to while baking as they climb up the pan.

Thanks everyone for all the great advice. I am getting ready bake tonight and I will be adding some chips to the mix. I think I will lightly roll them in flour since I don't want to take a chance with them sinking. I'll let you know the results.

easy to do that coating with flour is to put flour in a ziplock type baggie and add chips, nuts, whatever your wanting to coat. When thoroughly coated dump into a strainer or colander in sink and shake off excess flour and plop them right into your batter.

Thanks 2sdae, your the best. I probably would have done something else and made a mess. Now I can look like I know what I'm doing.
