Post easy caramel apple pie...yes PIE.

1 graham cracker pre made crust.
1 can of condensed milk
2 large or 3 smaller ones, granny smith apples
2 tablespoons lemon juice.

Boil can of condensed milk for 2 1/2 hours, keep well covered with water.
Take out and let come to room temp after boiling.
Take apples and clean, core and cut into thin slices, I leave on peels but can be peeled if you wanted.
Take and put into zip lock type bag and add all the lemon juice and shake.
This coats fruit and keeps it from browning and adds flavor to them.
Arrange slices in bottom of crust in a swirl pattern to get as many as possible in laying side by side.
set aside extras.
Take milk can and open and remove the caramel it has become and stir till smooth, then add on top of apples in crust.
fill as high as pie pan top will allow. Then add left over apples in a pattern on top and refrigerate for 1 hour. Serve with whipped topping if you want. Very sweet and gooey kinda pie.

This is my made up creation so if I left something out let me know, I do it by memory.

Ha, Ha, Ha! I wish I could have somebody heavier than me, then I might not be so self conscious. At least my DH weighs more!

Do you have to boil it in the can?? I'm afraid I would explode it. ....I had NO idea that would make caramel btw.

as long as you keep it at least 3/4 covered no problem, I have done this way for years and my mother did too. Cakepro and a few others said they do it this way too and no one has had a blow up yet, I am not saying it couldn't technically happen, just that it hasn't.
