AMD hi-ratio shortening???

Has anybody heard of this brand? I found a "Bakery Depot" not far from my house & they sell a 50# tub of ADM hi-ratio caake & icing shortening - super cheap! But I have never heard of the brand.....still thinking of trying it....any input?

never heard of it, but if you can buy a smaller amount I'd try that and see unless you can find someone near who uses it too.
you can also google it and see what you come up with as well as looking on the package to see who it's made by, may be a well known co. and we dont even realize it.

I was thinking the same as 2sdae. It would suck to buy a 50 lb bucket and find it goes rancid fast or that it is not a good quality! Let us know what you find out. I have never heard of it before.
