Fav butter cream flavorings and why?
I am also interested in trying new flavors for my butter cream. Which flavorings/ extracts/ or real ingredients do you use and or why?
Do you get a request for 1 in particular more than others?

Re: Fav butter cream flavorings and why?
I love princess cake emulsion, orange emulsion, and I love buttery sweet dough emulsion too. I like mint in chocolate butter cream.
I love lorannes champagne flavoring too!

What kind of cakes do you use the princess cake emulsion with? I ordered it a while back from the store and have never used it yet and was wondering what it would go good with.

Re: Fav butter cream flavorings and why?
I love putting espresso buttercream on chocolate or mocha cakes, but haven't found the perfect brand of flavoring yet. I've been looking locally for the Medaglia D' Oro (sp?) instant espresso but haven't found it yet. So far I've just been brewing a really strong batch of French Roast coffee and that does ok, but I normally don't like putting that much liquid in my buttercream.
I had a friend that brought me some pure vanilla extract from the Domincan Republic - I don't know what kind of vanilla bean it's made from, but it's more flower-y smelling/tasting that the bourbon vanilla beans. I use it quite often in buttercream too. It's not clear, but I don't mind the extra little bit of color. I love it!

Tahitian vanilla is more the flowery type, it's good but lighter to me.

Re: Fav butter cream flavorings and why?
The cherry sounds good. Where can I get it? Cherry flavor would be great for Valentines Day. Thinking heart shaped chocolate cookies.
I made a recipe from Dede Wilson's Wedding Cake Book once, it had good texture, very smooth, tasted good but too buttery for me. So I put a few globs of peanut butter in and everyone loved it!
